Congratulations to graduates Kaitlyn Johnson and Alex Pettigrew!

Congratulations to Remis Research Group members Kaitlyn Johnson and Alex Pettigrew on their recent graduation from Purdue University!

Kaitlyn gradKaitlyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Her senior honors thesis, entitled “Human-Wildlife Interaction and Conflict Management in East Africa,” examined local attitudes toward conservation in several communities adjacent to protected areas throughout East Africa.

AlexGradAlex received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences.  As a research fellow for the National Science Foundation’s Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Program, Alex designed and conducted an observational study of captive behavior in orangutans at the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center at the Indianapolis Zoo.
